About Us

The Texas Veterans Legacy for Tomorrow Project

Texas Veterans Legacy for Tomorrow (TexVet Legacy) is a storytelling project designed to broaden the reach, depth, and understanding of the lives of Veterans and their families and friends. By combining storytelling, social work methodologies, educational strategies, archival preservation, and innovative technology, we hope to create a dynamic public resource that not only supports and strengthens the community, but also helps it to flourish.

This project will work to memorialize the stories of 50 historically underrepresented Veterans interred in the four State or six National VA-funded Cemeteries in Texas. We will focus our efforts on Veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan interred in Texas.
